As the most visited state in the US, by far, you can guarantee that there is something for everyone in Florida. It really doesn’t have to be all about the massive theme parks which are always a crowd-puller for the young and young at heart. This is a diverse state; one that has a total land area that exceeds England, so with this in mind, reserve judgment until you have researched everything available in the state more meticulously.
From amazing beach resorts, to the aforementioned theme parks, and everything in between, Florida villas place you smack, bang in the middle of all this potential action, and by staying in these self catering properties, you have so much more freedom to come and go as you please. You can save a huge amount on food bills for the family, too, as you will not be forced to eat out for every single meal, as you would if you were to stay in a traditional hotel.
The self catering accommodation in Florida is always appointed to the highest possible standard. The average Floridian lives in a beautiful home, it has to be said, especially compared with the rabbit hutches we call home! Villas in Florida enable you to keep your entire travelling party all together under one roof; offer you all the mod-cons you would find in even the most opulent of hotels; and often come with the own outdoor private space where you can have a stab at really immersing yourself into the local way-of-life.
Florida has two separate coasts: the west coast is on the Gulf of Mexico (or Caribbean Sea) and this tends to be very sheltered and perfectly calm for swimming and the more gentle water sports. The east coast is on the Atlantic Ocean and whilst it would tend to be calmer this far south than we experience back in the UK, there is still a good swell in these waters where surfing, wind surfing and other similar water sports are able to be enjoyed.
There are some very interesting cities to explore whilst you are enjoying your holidays in Florida. The state capital, Tallahassee, is definitely worth some of your time, although this is situated quite far north in the state. At the complete opposite end of the state you will find the largest city of Miami. Now, this is one cosmopolitan city to experience and the shopping and nightlife here offers something for everyone. Miami is also conveniently close to The Keys, if you fancy even more in the way of that celebrity lifestyle.
We do have to mention the massive theme park resorts, however, if we are discussing places to visit in Florida. If you are looking to stay in Florida villas that are located in the centre of the state, there really will be no escaping them. Of course, everyone knows about the gargantuan Walt Disney World resort: what with its four separate theme parks, two water parks, golf courses and so much more. But there is also Sea World within this neck of the woods; Universal Resort which has some equally great theme parks, and if anything, the parks will tend to have more white-knuckle rides than you will find in the Disney parks.
You can easily escape the main theme park areas, though, when staying in Florida. The whole state is not just one massive fairground: as many people may actually think. Aim for the state coasts or the far south or north and this will mean you are not within the main theme park zones.
